Our Why
Someone Needed to Start a Different Path
Mac is not just a survivor—he's a warrior of faith and resilience. After being diagnosed with STAGE 4 cancer the fun just started as it was found that the cancer moved to Mac's spine. Mac was left temporarily paralyzed and told the path back may not be 30%. After undergoing major emergency spinal surgery to remove a tumor crushing his spine, he faced life from a wheelchair and a walker and rehab and more rehab.
It was through his unshakable faith in Jesus that he found the strength, courage, humor, and humility to fight through the darkest waters. Spinal Surgery. Radiation. Chemotherapy. Hormone blockers. Each one tried to take him down.
God had other plans...
Mac didn't just survive—he rose with a mission: To change how other men face cancer. To make sure no man walks this journey alone. To restore dignity, strength, and purpose to the fight.
YHWH Foundation was born from that vow. From one man's pain came a calling to heal others.
A Life Changed
Like so many men, Mac McKee put off his health for years. When he finally went in for a screening, his world was turned upside down. Cancer. The word that changes everything. But Mac chose to face it head-on, with faith as his anchor.
Facing the System
Navigating the healthcare system as a man with cancer revealed a stark truth: almost all support and resources are designed for women. Finding help as a man in need was near impossible. The financial burden, the lack of resources, the stigma—it was a battle on every front.
A Voice for the Voiceless
Mac realized that if he struggled, millions of other men were struggling too—silently. Men hate to talk about their health and their money. Those two issues combined are a disaster. Someone needed to start a different path. Mac decided he would be that someone.
YHWH Foundation is Born
In 2025, Mac founded the YHWH Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona. Named after what God first called Himself—"I Am Who I Am"—the foundation was started to speak for the men who won't speak for themselves. With every breath, we say His name: YAH…WEH.
The Mission Continues
Through awareness, assistance, and advocacy, the YHWH Foundation works tirelessly to ensure that no man faces cancer alone. Mac's story is one of resilience, faith, and the unwavering belief that men deserve better—and that change is possible.
